What is CoffeeBerry?
CoffeeBerry is a product derived from the fruit of the coffee plant (Coffee arabica), from
which the commonly known coffee bean is derived. When harvested at a sub-ripe growth
stage, the flesh of the fruit is at a peak antioxidant concentration offering the extract
known as CoffeeBerry.
What is the history and origin of the coffee plant?
The coffee plant is believed to have come from the Horn of Africa, along the Red Sea. It
is thought that tribes in Ethiopia crushed the fruit of the plant, the coffee cherry, for
food. Over many centuries, various legends surfaced as to how the CoffeeBerry crossed
continents for inclusion in cultures and countries across the world.
What makes CoffeeBerry a natural, potent super-antioxidant?
CoffeeBerry is exceptionally rich in polyphenol antioxidants, such as chlorogenic acid,
condensed proanthocyanidins, quinic acid and ferulic acid.
The CoffeeBerry Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) score is between 15,000 and
17,600(4), higher than other known naturally occurring antioxidants.
What is an ORAC score?
ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. It was originally developed by the
U.S. Department of Agriculture to evaluate the oxygen radical absorbency capacity of food
substances. The ORAC score of CoffeeBerry is highter than even the most popular natural
antioxidants.
Comparative antioxidant scores (1-5):
- CoffeeBerry Extract 15,000 - 17,500
- Green Teas 1,200 - 11,000
- Pomegranate Extract 2,500
- Vitamin C 1,900
- Vitamin E 1,400
What's so special; about Revaleskin and it's key skin
rejuvenating ingredient?
CoffeeBerry® is the key ingredient in REVALESKIN products and the most
potent natural antioxidant available in skin care today. Scientific testing shows that
Coffeeberry has a higher antioxidant capacity than other popular natural antioxidant
ingredients like green tea, pomegranate, and vitamin C and E.
Revaleskin's Antioxidant Base CoffeeBerry can:
- Rejuvenate skin damaged by daily exposure to free radicals (molecules that
cause the breakdown of collagen and contribute to overall skin aging).
- Protect the skin against everyday environmental damage, such as sun, wind,
and temperature.
- Help reverse the signs of aging with it's collagen regeneration
capabilities.
What is The coffeeberry
extraction process and why is it so expensive?
Commercial coffee production is generally propagated by seeds. Traditionally 20 coffee
seeds are placed in each hole at the start of the rainy season. Most of the seeds will
naturally die off, but those that survive will grow into plants that will be ready for
harvest in four years.
Coffeeberry, the active antioxidant in the Revaleskin products, is extracted from the
coffee cherry, which is the external fleshy shell surrounding the coffee seed. In order to
maximize the concentration of antioxidants the coffee cherry is harvested before it is
ripe. The chosen coffee plants for this process grow at high elevations along the equator
where the natural antioxidant is generated by the plant to protect it from direct sun
light. The coffeeberry extract contains antioxidants that inhibit oxidation and
neutralizes free radicals before they bind with skin cell membranes therefore preventing
damage to the cell.
Since the coffeeberry comes from a fruit it is safe to use on humans and considered ideal
for individuals with sensitive or easily-irritated skin.
Why are antioxidants important in skin care?
In the natural aging process, oxidative stress occurs at a rate at which the body/skin is
no longer able to fully neutralize free radicals. Free radicals accelerate the cellular
damage known to cause premature aging. Read

Why use Revaleskin over other brands of anti-aging creams?
Now, there are other ways of reversing photoaging and it usually involves the use
of a topical antioxidant. There are numerous products on the market that are advertised as
antioxidants but it is beyond the scope of this entry. Today we are only going to review
Revaleskin. Revaleskin is a novel new antioxidant made of coffee berry extract. The coffee
berry includes bean, hull, and pulp. It is reported to have 15x the antioxidant power than
fruits or green tea based on the ORAC scale. This is impressive. Studies done on the use
of this cream showed 20% increase in fine lines and 15% improvement in roughness and
dryness as reported in the April edition of Skin and Allergy News.
Another study by Zoe Draelos, MD a very well respected dermatologist,
compared Revaleskin with Purpose Moisturizing products and at 6 weeks showed significantly
less skin roughness and more skin hydration/moisturization when using Revaleskin creams.
In summary, Revaleskin should be used as adjunct to the standard of care for
reversing and preventing photoaging. It is a good sun block and assists retinoids like
Retin-A or Tazorac in repairing sun damaged skin. If you are already using Retin-A and
full spectrum sunblock, then this novel and powerful coffeeberry antioxidant cream called
Revaleskin could just be the skin secret for you.

CoffeeBerry® facts that generate Revaleskin results?
CoffeeBerry is a proprietary extract of the subripe berry of the plant
Coffea arabuca, from which the familiar ripened and roasted coffee bean is also derived.
CoffeeBerry is rich in natural polyphenolic antioxidants (helps prevent damage
caused by free radicals and oxidative stress; interact directly with cellular receptors to
alter signal transduction pathways that affect the redox status of the cell), including
condensed proanthocyanidins and chlorogenic, quinic, and ferulic acids (known for its
photoprotective properties)
